Yesterday morning's open boat trip was an improvement in comparison to the weekend. We had great conditions, although the drift was fast at times. Charlie boated his limit plus one, giving his extra to his good buddy Jim. Kelly Riley won the days pool. Over all it was a great day out.
Yesterday morning we had USG's Woodbridge plant employees out for a day of fluking. We had short action right off the bat, with sea robbins making up a large portion of the day's catch. We did however see more short fluke than the previous day's trip. A few more keepers were caught on Saturdays trip, but it sure is nice to at least see the right species come over the rail. The battle between the USG plants for keepers was a close one, the Pennsylvania clan took home the trophy.
USG from PA had a day full of action, mainly consisting of sea robins and shorts. They were able to find the elusive keeper among the robins and shorts with a 6.5lber taking the pool, caught by Mike Nicholas. All in all it wasn't a bad day out on the water.
Almost didn't sail today because of the low turn out but we bit the bullet and went . Thankfully fishing was better than previous trips landing keepers size fluke numbering into the teens along with good short action to boot. Clown shoes Steve was one shy of his limit and James Rampino won the pool with a healthy 7.9 lb fluke.
