Yesterday we had the boys from Amtrack aboard. We had a hard north west wind, which kicked up some nice seas. The shorts were more prevalent than keepers, however we still managed a few. Bob Dylan won the pool.
Today we had the Carteret Elks aboard for day at sea. There was a solid roll from the east all day which made things interesting at time and prevented us from turning the corner and heading south. We pounded the grounds had a decent short bite at times and a better pick of keepers today.
Magic Hours 8/20, Describe the conditions in one word Tough, describe the fishing in one Word tough! Pretty rough last night which didn't help. We saw some short life but not many keepers.
The guys from Oasis Christian Church were aboard for their first annual charter and fish of all shapes and sizes came over the rail with the pool winner weighing at 5lbs. There were plenty of shorts landed, sea robins and a few seabss. At the end of the day everyone left with smiles on there face even though the shorts dominated the bite.
