Started fishing the local waters this morning and conditions were horrible which seems to be the theme lately. So we sailed east to find better conditions and an excellent short and shark bite. As we picked through well over a hundred shorts and 40 plus sharks we mangaed only 6 keepers for the day. Bob Sawyer won the pool with a 2.8 pound fluke.
Well the struggle continues since the full moon. Fishing has been slow with conditions being less than ideal. American Legion Post 248 held ther Annual Fund Raiser for Kids with Down Syndrome, fishing was slow but the fund raising goals were reached with the support of everyone involved. A big thank you to everyone. Sat night magic hours was again hampered by bad conditions plenty of south wind with a ripping tide just made things difficult. Chris Shukis won the pool and took the lead in the masters with a 4 lb fluke. We had the bayview Rod and Gun abourd for their annual Fluke trip. I wish I could say things turned around but fishing remained tough. The Szeszko family put on a clinic landing the majority of the boats keepers. Tom took the pool with a 3.5 pound fluke beating out his sister in-law Debbie. Sunday night Magic hours saw few more keepers but not many shorts. Tajah Fields won the pool.
Well another night of too much wind and too much drift. Shorts provided some action but the keepers were few and fare between. With the forecast it looks like a long weekend is ahead of us. Back on the grounds tomorrow!!!!!
It seemed like forever that we had to wait for some conditions today. Slow pick with a few spurts of action. Some folks managed two for the plate and others none. Overall it was on the slower side today. Si Hiller and Keith Rada both doubled up in keepers today. Si took the pool today with an average size fluke (didnt get the weight). Sailing Saturday and Sunday 4 to 8PM Reservation required. Call or text 732-721-2892
Teamsters Local 177 were fortunate to get the first two drifts in before the conditions corroaded. We struggled the rest of the day. Lindsay Weiss and Tom Billich both landed limit catches. Ken Lombardo from Elmwood Park took the pool with a 3.3 pound fluke.
Magic Hours - We set sail with high ecpectations considering we would hve excellent conditions. Dissapointment set in quickly with the wind blowing a steady 15 out of the SE combined with a the Full Moon flood tide made for difficult conditions. 1st and 2nd drift not a nibble, on the 3rd we landed a short. Due to lack of product we had to change plans and hit the flats and proceeded to see a few shorts and a few keepers, overall very slow night. Juan Cardona won the pool with a 2.2 lb flattie.
